Jayne Ramage

O668562,
Ramage, Jayne-Grace
Lady Macbeth

Experience:

  • First Summer Shakespeare but has dabbled with Shakespeare's works before.  Dabbling in directing.  Worked with Karla Crofts at Feilding High School, Simon Ferry from Centrepoint Theatre Basement Company, Ken Blackburn from Classes with the Masters, and Penni Bousfield from UCOL's Performance Art Centre.

Reason for undertaking mission:

  • "Macbeth has always been my favourite of Shakespeare's plays.  I consistently find myself fascinated by Macbeth and Lady Macbeth - I love how brilliantly Shakespeare has plied the paradox of their ambition to ascend a hierarchal ladder turning into a hurtling descent into madness - and beyond.  So, when I heard of the play selection for Massey's 2010 Summer Shakespeare, I knew that I wanted in.  AND I get to play in The Esplanade!  What's not to love!?"

Why people should come to MSS's Macbeth:

  • "Because we have military uniforms, cigars, fire, marching, and a fabulous cast and crew!"

Favourite quote from the play:

  • Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more - "Because it's fantastically ironic: At the end of the day, you could be the King of Scotland, and you might STILL be irrelevant."
